MapleConsent ("we") provides consent management for Shopify merchants. This policy describes what the app itself collects and stores.

What we collect

• Merchant data: your shop domain, app settings (banner text, consent zones, managed scripts, policy questionnaire answers), and subscription plan.
• Visitor consent records: when a visitor interacts with the consent banner on a merchant's store, we record the timestamp, consent choices per category, the zone and banner version applied, banner language, an anonymous random visitor ID, the user-agent string, and a truncated, salted hash of the IP address. We never store raw IP addresses, names, emails, or any other directly identifying information about store visitors.

What we do not collect

MapleConsent requests no Shopify customer-data scopes. We cannot read your customers, orders, or any personal data held in your store.

Purpose & legal basis

Consent records exist solely so merchants can demonstrate compliance (Quebec Law 25, PIPEDA, GDPR accountability). They are processed on the merchant's instructions.

Retention & deletion

Consent records are retained for up to 5 years (plan-dependent), then deleted. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify sends a deletion request 48 hours later and we purge all data for that shop, including every consent record.

Sharing

We use infrastructure providers (Railway — hosting and database) to operate the service. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.

MapleConsent (« nous ») offre la gestion du consentement aux marchands Shopify. La présente politique décrit ce que l'application elle-même recueille et conserve.

Ce que nous recueillons

• Données du marchand : domaine de la boutique, réglages de l'application et forfait d'abonnement.
• Registres de consentement des visiteurs : horodatage, choix par catégorie, zone et version de bannière, langue servie, identifiant aléatoire anonyme, agent utilisateur et empreinte hachée et tronquée de l'adresse IP. Nous ne conservons jamais d'adresses IP brutes, noms, courriels ni aucun autre renseignement identifiant directement les visiteurs.

Conservation et suppression

Les registres sont conservés jusqu'à 5 ans puis supprimés. À la désinstallation, toutes les données de la boutique sont purgées à la demande de Shopify (48 h).
